He does run some style of small roll out flat paddle though, which seem to work very well. I just didn't want the OP to go buy some over aggressive tires based in what works for a minority of racers. Rjatv may run at a track where you need a lot of paddle. I'd say look at the bikes at your track that lay down good numbers and go from there. For one, his bike is like 220lbs ready to run, his jockey was a female weighing less then 100lbs, and it's a riggid chassis, Rob at rdz did it with a stock chassis I am going to guess weighed somewhere between 260-280 range, and with a heavier jocky. And just for the record Menz runs 16 paddle extremes not 14's. I just like you, was just giving my opinion to the original poster. I didn't want him to buy a tire that is not aggressive enough (my opinion based on my exp) heck we have drag blasters here that run 12 paddle extremes. I am not trying to disagree or disrespect anybodys opinion here, just saying what works for me, that is all. J-Madd Posted February 1, 2014 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 Menz runs 14 Stg. He's a personal racing friend of mine. I've been to his shop many times. Not sure where you got the mis information. He only owns one set if tires that I've seen. And what fast kid says is true, but now it's a 421 cc. It was 397 cc before. rjatv Posted February 1, 2014 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 Well in that actual pic I personally think they are 16's because if you look at 4 paddles, they take up 1/4 of the tire, but it could be just the way it's making it look. Either way the guy is doing something right and he is above the rest, good for him.
