jacowils Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Ok so most guys on here say to run the tors removal kit, but my question is can you unhook all of the tors connections and run it in this manner without buying the kit with a new cable and tops or will this not work? I am wondering this because i want to not have to worry about the tors giving me problems in the upcoming riding season and i do not want to purchase a kit just yet, thanks. Quote
sprinklerman Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 You need the kit with idle screws. It's a couple bux more..but worth it. Quote
Finch Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 you dont "need" just unplug the lil black box under your gas tank front left side Quote
jacowils Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 Gotcha, havent had problems with my tors yet.. Knock on wood lol but id rather do it right with the kit when the time comes Quote
bluebanshee98 Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Yea just unplug it for now till you do the tors delete correctly. Makes jetting much easier to do when the big tors boxes are gone Quote
Banshee Chad Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) I do not agree with the "it makes jetting easier" thing about tors removal.. I did mine as I was under that belief, and convinced of the future possible issues. I think it'd be just fine with em. If they give probs, then worry about it. Jetting I think only gets easier if u remove the air box and run pods. I still run a box without lid mostly, and it's still a pain in the ass to change jets.. But honestly once u get jetting dead on, u change it for temp and elevation if severe enough change. I put lid on air box in winter and don't change anything anymore. But, I guess if u are constantly pissing with jetting, then remove tors, and eliminate air box.. Other wise run it till u have issues.. Edited December 18, 2013 by Banshee Chad Quote
