xXADRENALINE_JUNKIEXx Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 hey guys i just picked up a set of diamond j customs tire to ski convertion brackets and some pro steer skis. now i need traction for the back. i dont have the money for tracks, chains are good for ice but not snow, and self tapping ice screws are a option but i id like something more permant. this is my idea. i have a brand new pair of GNCC's "20 x 10-9" they have 24 rows, 12 with 4 lugs and 12 with 3 lugs, my plan with these are to cut the 3 lug rows out and wire wheel the surface down flat. kinda like the hill climber guys do but the put a row of 5 " 6 if i can fit it " snowmobile ice studs in so id have the best of both worlds in theory, 4 lug row would act as a paddle which would be good in snow and the ice stud row would give good tration on ice and also act as support where that row of lugs would have been . just looking for some good or bad idea responces,or if any one has done this some tips. thanks guys Quote
n2otoofast4u Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 All paddles do in snow is toss shit and dig. Quote
Methfireroad Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 Cutting your tires is worthless. Unless u have the right tire... I cut some and hated them... Quote
xXADRENALINE_JUNKIEXx Posted December 15, 2013 Author Report Posted December 15, 2013 so does any other tire, just paddles dig quicker lol Quote
