Rider912 Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Just got a 01 banshee, it runs great in mild weather but as soon as it gets cold, the engine will fire but wont stay running usually. I sometimes will be able to get it to idle for a couple seconds but then I give it gas it just dies out. And if it does get going, there will be a very distinguishable power shortage, as though its never warmed up. I have K&N air filters on it that need a good cleaning, not sure about the carbs, and I just cleaned the spark plugs yesterday and it finally got going once. What should I do? Quote
Banshee Chad Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Proly needs larger jets.. When temps decrease and air is more dense u need more fuel. There is a great how to jet article in the jetting and exhaust section. It talks about temp change along with elevation change, as well as general carb workings and jetting. Start there and get a good understanding of the workings of carbs and how the air fuel works. Good luck, don't run it for a long time like that, it could ruin it, Quote
