badsheerider Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 I am in the process of rebuilding my motor. It needs a new crank cause the rod bearings are shot so i figured this is a good excuse to put a 4 mill in her. My plans is a 4mill crank Cool head not sure on domes And some port work but trying to figure oit which style of port would be better for me. I do trail riding , occasion 300ft drag at local tracks. And a set of pipes i was thinking cpi. Iv done research on here trying to get my combo together but im still not sure which way to go and if you guys know who would be good to send the cyilnders to please let me know. I just want to be able to smoke all of my buddies 450. I had a built 660 that they could not touch but im tired of 4 strokes and i have always wanted a banshee and finally got one. Thanks in advance for any input Quote
Young Guns Racing Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 a nice stock cylinder 4 mil will be very impressive. Call Cam @ redline racing. He would have my vote to hook you up for a NASTY pump fuel 4 mil setup. I think it'll be everything you want and more! Pipes are personal prefference, I run shearer pipes but i like CPI's just the same, they both make great power! Hard to go wrong, talk to your builder you select and see which pipe they would recommend! Edit::: Oh and be ready to spend some money...this build will NOT come cheap. While its torn down, you should also talk to cam about "pro modding" your trans. Camatv here on the hq did mine, looooove it. Quote
badsheerider Posted November 24, 2013 Author Report Posted November 24, 2013 Ok thanks. So you think that set up will beat 450s. Quote
sprinklerman Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 Ok thanks. So you think that set up will beat 450s.It's all going to depend how well you setup the rest of the bike. Swingarm , tires, suspension. Quote
badsheerider Posted November 24, 2013 Author Report Posted November 24, 2013 Probably leave swing arm stock and tires will be hole shots or razors cause its all dirt where im at. And suspension is coming soon Quote
Young Guns Racing Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 Defenitly going to need suspension to make use.of all ur newly found power a stock swing arm length is going to make ur bike a wheelie machine. I'd say a +4 is worth investing 2 Quote
badsheerider Posted November 24, 2013 Author Report Posted November 24, 2013 Well that will be going on the list. Will i be able to still do wheelies easy when i want? Like i said mu whole end game is to beat my buddies 450s thanks again guys. Quote
Parkbenchbum Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 I got one built by Cam. Its stock stroke and eats 450s. Your problem will be traction. 1 Quote
badsheerider Posted November 25, 2013 Author Report Posted November 25, 2013 Thanks thats exactly what i wanted to here lol. Thanks again guys for all input. Quote
thomas h. Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Hard pack dirt is hard for a banshee to hook up on ( hp curve is too good). 7 mill is what I would go with and aggressive dune port. HJR will be the best price. And get it to you quick. I think gearing up will be your friend on hard pack. Quote
thomas h. Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Stock stroke meth 100hp HJR. Edited November 25, 2013 by thomas h. Quote

Being what you are doing though, I'd do a nice 4mm stock cyl or a 4mm serval. For general all around riding, I'd stick with pump gas..not methanol as was mentioned. 1 Quote
dozer Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 The 4 Mm Motors Are Awesome. Cheap To Build,MaintaiN And Are Very Reliable. Use The Money You Would Spend On Building A Bigger Motor To Buy Some Suspension. Quote
BANSHEE CHAOS Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Paddle tires = traction = Wheelies! Quote
RagunCajun Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 I built my bike with the same goals in mind years ago. Traction was always my biggest issue. Pro wedge 2's, dune able override and practice solved that. It was a bit over kill tbough. Whoever ports your cylinders can recommend pipes, power delivery, domes etc. Just tell him how you ride and what you want out of it. Quote
