rjdgriff Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Jeff at FAST or cam at Redline both know what they are doing and will take care of you. I would look into the serval if I were you. My 4mil serval smoked the hell out of 450s and 700s lol 1 Quote
badsheerider Posted November 25, 2013 Author Report Posted November 25, 2013 I was planning on going with redline and you just confirmed it for me. But this may be a dumb question but do you mean by a several? Thanks again Quote
Zillaguy Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 I am running a 4mil aggressive dune port and it SMOKES 450's... It's not even a fair race... I'm usually pulling through the traps by the time they are at half track.... i'm doing it on a stock length swinger, traction is the only problem.... I launch in second and am spinning the tires till 4th gear....Once it stops spinning and comes on the power it wants to wheelie to the end of the track...I'm thinking about a gearing change for next season... RagunCajun Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 May want to send your trans to be pro modded or whatever its called as well. Serval is a type of mmonoblck cylinders from CP. They offer a broad power band that isnt high strung like a cub. Redline ports them and they dont lose bottom end. Quote
badsheerider Posted November 25, 2013 Author Report Posted November 25, 2013 So i would have to buy different cylinders to have a several.what would need to be done to the trans. Quote
RagunCajun Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Yeah but you csn have your stock cylinders ported and achieve all your goals. Talked to the builder to better answer questions. Same goes for the trans Quote
Young Guns Racing Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Yeah but you csn have your stock cylinders ported and achieve all your goals. Talked to the builder to better answer questions. Same goes for the trans X2. If you've already decided on redline why the wait? Call em up and talk to them! They are super helpful guys and put out numbers to back up their stuff! Im sending a set of dune ported cylinders to them from my stock cyld 4 mil build and im having them slightly adjusted more towards a drag port and a set of domes cut for race fuel. Plus i've heard no complaints about cam's pro modded transmissions. Camatv did mine and i love it, but for this build im going to have a 2-5 override done to a stock trans i have laying around. I love my pro mod so im going to save it for another build I'll do in the future. Quote
rjdgriff Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Redline just finished my 10mil serval and redline also did the promod tranny for me as well. The 4mil serval I had was built by FAST and I got around 800 hours out of that setup without ever rebuilding it. Also Tyler clark ran my 4mil serval at the national championship hillclimb and took first place in the 0-450cc class Quote
badsheerider Posted November 29, 2013 Author Report Posted November 29, 2013 Do you guys think i will need bigger carbs for a 4mill and a aggressive dune port? Im going to ask the guys at red line for what pipes and domes to run. Thanks again guys for all advice Quote
RagunCajun Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 stock carbs work fine with 4mil stock cylinders. Many have done it. So there ya go. edit* i forgot you chose a builder. He will know best. Quote
