hang on......there are some things about these quads that someone has apparently forgotten to tell you or purposely didn't tell you when you bought this quad.  These bikes are not for the cheap, or for the frightfully frugal.......these bikes require maintenance, and parts, and tinkering......they will gobble money.  If your dad if freaking out about you going to the dealer to buy jets.......then you may have problems.  Another question......how old are you?  Do you have a job or is he payin for your quad and whatnot.....only asking cause its gonna take a decent about of money to continue to run one of these quads.

On another note....go pick yourself up a clymers manual.  And STOP going to the dealer.  They are a excessively massive rip-off.  Not to mention, more than one person on here has had them "work" on their bike just to mangle it and wind up causing an issue which leads to catastrophic damage.  Just do your research on here.  I did. We all did and have learned MASSIVE amounts of info from some really smart people.  Then learn about our sponsors.  You'll save money and these guys eat sleep and live banshees.

Prime example about dealers........dealer here wants $27 for a head gasket for the banshee.  Jeff at F.A.S.T. Racing (farmandsandtoys.com) sells them for $15 or an entire top end gasket kit for $35.  Or the head itself.....the dealer wants $207 for a STOCK head.........Jeff sells a coolhead style head that allows you to interchange domes to up compression for power, and its only $190.  So just get your bearings straight about whether tis worth it to you to spend the money in this sport.  And get your dad a quad. And stay out of the DEALER.

^^^^^^ Well put, chances are your dealer has a kid in the back just as green as anybody working for peanuts, and learning a 'trade' on your dime. Save your money and do it yourself. If you need machining services and/or parts, hit up a site sponsor. If you can't fix it from here, you shouldn't be working on it all :)

Everyone always says Clymer manual, but IMO they have a lot to be desired (although sufficient enough). Go to the tech info on this site and download the Service Manual-it's free. Either choice of manual is a must if you are learning all about this machine :) Good luck, and have a great time with it.

OK.. well i only went to my local Yamaha dealer to see what there suggestions were for the jet size, i had gotten 3 different answer (not even in the same ball park). my mom bought it new in 2005 and never rode (maybe 10 hours since this year). im 15 and learning the basics. motor, quads, and cars all tickle my fancy, but upon recently i haven't been able to learn as much about these as i would like to.  i do yard work for people and my grandparents.

15 yrs old and can properly use english grammer on a public forum. Plus, he is working for what he wants. He's cool in my book.

Congrats on making the desicion to play around with the banshee and not run out and buy a 4 stroke. Pay attention to what topics people are posting about and the solutions to fixing them are. Download or buy a manual, it will help you figure out things that you are curious about or having problems with.

My last piece of advice would be to tell you, DO NOT be afraid to ask questions. Everything I know about these bikes are things that I have learned off this site and talking with some of the more  knowledgeable members on here.

Should get you pretty close to the right jetting.

Can you send this to me in a different format. I have excel 07 and it wont let me open it right. It turns into jibberish.

I concur with FT 100%! And Rock on Mom!!! But how come she bought it and didn't ride?

At the time she had some friends with banshee's and rode a couple times then they started to branch off :/
