Need some input...just found out my trans is shot and in bad shape. A guy round my way says that he will cut me a new trans override 1-4 m5,6 with new forks and drum for 450...is that a good price, bad price or about the norm....? Thanks

No core? normally you need to send your trans in for that price. ask to see samples of his work first. ive seen alot of cut trans. some look like shit, are horrible to shift, eat forks, wear uneven etc.

Didnt think about that...ill ask tomorrow..but if that is with no core im assuming that youre saying thats a good price? And if i was to see his work i wouldnt know what im looking at. The guy thas putting it in uses his trans in all his bikes and is very well known in my area...so im just going by his word. I talked to tyson racing and they said they could fix it.....but from what i was told its pretty bad

Mine was less without core but depends who you go with. I went with some non name guy from here and lucked out and got a great trans.

Off topic but you do absolutely need 6 gears? If not, consider a n-down 1-5 duneable. IMO the best combo there is unless you have to have 6 gears.

No i dont. Need all six gears i suppose.....just mainly dirt drag, and 1/8 mile here and there....but why not have all six? By having all six cause more problems or something? And im not sure exactly what dunable is ill have to search that

For a drag bike you will be fine with what you will do. Although a trans with m5 and m6 sounds like it could hurt your e/t if you need to use 5 or 6 gears on a pass.

Figured since its offered it would be bettr to have all six.........its better to have and not need than to need and not have
