Common24 Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 I recently purchased a Herr racing super cub 472 topend to use with my 4 mil and looking into changing my carbs. I am currently running a set of 35 Keihin airstriker carbs on gas that I ran with my stock cylinder setup. Can I convert Keihin Airstriker carbs to alky? Who can do this mod? Stay with gas or switch to alcohol? Will I need a bigger carbs to run a 150ft to 200ft dirt drags? any info would be appreciated Quote
sprinklerman Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 You need these if you are going to alky > http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=170298&hl= Quote
trickedcarbine Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Bitchin carbs sprinkler! OP, there are a lot of guys out there that can do alky conversions on carbs. I'd steer clear of converting your air strykers though. Maybe some 39mm PWK's. but that means you'd be buying new carbs, then sending them out to be re configured, you might as well grab up those carbs sprinkler posted. But if you are absolutely adamant about new carbs send them off to A&S, K&T, Packard, or RDZ. Quote
Common24 Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 I didn't order the kit from Kevin directly bought it off here in the parts section to a guy goin to a longer stroke. The guy that ran the motor ran 500ft with a set of 39s on race fuel. He said he couldn't say what size carb would work best in 200ft. I will try to call Kevin tomorrow and ask just trying to get insight on what other people have used. Most of the tracks here in Kentucky are all 200 with a occasional 300ft. Most of the county fair races I go to with my 450 quads I take the banshee to play around on. All of those are around 150ft. Quote
Coupelx Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 If drag racing bigger wont hurt. 39s will work and no shortage of them on alky. Quote
Common24 Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 What 39s do you recommend Bobby? Quote
