Just picked up a pretty nice set of Shearer inframes from another member here and wanna make sure they are as fresh as possible before bolting them on. What kind of packing comes in these things stock? Just trying to get it ordered so it is here and ready when I have time to open them up.

Yeah the pink panther stuff works pretty good. It seems to blow out just a tad quicker than actual pipe packing but is super cheap. The 5 dollar rolls do about 4 repacks on my fmf powercore 2's.

Edit: I should clarify that by 4 repacks i mean one roll will repack 4 silencers, not that i can repack 2 silencers 4 times.

Ya I've not used it yet. Had it for a while. Just saw some toomey packing and it looked similar. Lil bit fluffier than the stuff I have but pretty close still. Might give it a whirl.

Tried the fire rated insulation. It's like steel wool and cotton blend. Sounded great. Note not talking about mineral wool. Although I think that stuff is probably nice too.

Took a set of toomys apart today. They had a heavy fiberglass type of sheathing/tubing packed down in them in a corkscrew pattern around the tube. This stuff was way heavier than the typical packing. Looked like it could be used as heat shielding over stingers or something. Where's this stuff come from?
