Duneable overrides

I'm sure this topic has been brought up many times but I can't find the info I'm looking for.

I'm thinking about running one, I do a lot of trail riding and drag racing at the dunes. It's been awhile since I've looked into them I remember WCR making one that can be shifted just like the stocker without worrying about back loading it. It was called an extreme duneable override has anyone ran it and is it any good? What is the best one out for trail riding and drag racing?

I like my stock modded. Every other dog cut and a little massaging on the other parts. It's a stock trans that shifts perfectly. Backload all day long, no springs, no burning up shift forks.

I see it as the best of both. I can ALMOST shift like a duneable, but all the reliability of a stock.

Do you know what it costs, and who will do it?

I have 4-5 years of hell on my WCR extreme and never a hiccup, I ride harder than most beaten that tranny to death and always shifted like butter!!

Went 4 sessions before the forks needed to be replaced, what more can you ask for??

I have a stock modded trans in my other bike and they are tits also, fact is even with a modded tranny you'll burn up forks over time!!

It sounds like the extreme is a pretty good tranny. I think that's what I'll go with.

I've seen a WCR with 32 seconds of run time on it grenade itself on my driveway.

The problem with WCR is that he is too inconsistent.

It's your money.

That's why I started this post to find out what's good and what's not. I've heard that the extreme is great for someone that doesn't just drag. Does redline make one that's like the extreme Loco?

As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as an "extreme" duneable.

You either get a duneable or you don't.

That said, I have many years on my Redline duneables. I've been pretty hard on them throughout the year but I don't trail ride either.

You couldn't pay me to run a WCR transmission though. He's too hit and miss.

X many!!!!!!!!!!! It wasn't hit & miss with our 6 transmission, It was all a miss. A 2 year old could do a better job of machining. The last two transmissions he sent us trying to make up for the first 4 tries of junk. Well, the last 2 were fucked up. I completed the machine work to make them work. The guy is plain & simple a HACK!!!!!!!!!

Yep. WCR has fallen on rough times and I don't see him rebounding.

He released the Extreme and out of over 50....almost every one came back. (The trans has an flaw in that if your in a light backload and downshift, the bike can engage two gears at once and that is always a kiss of death.)

He pulled them off the market and personally told me he was no longer going to pursue a fix for that trans. I waited almost 2 years for the solution that always seemed to be right around the next corner.....month....after month........after month.......

If your doing any trail riding, an override isn't the best choice. A ProMod (Fully modded stocker) from Redline or CAMATV would be my recommendation.
