Abe Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I think I shit the bed on this one. Had fresh black powder and redone it to add some color but didn't come out how I wanted. Leave it be or redo it to match the wifes bike. Quote
Abe Posted July 16, 2013 Author Report Posted July 16, 2013 Here is the sample pic I bought the powder off of. Quote
Deadbeat Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 that rim looks more orangey to me too, maybe the OP`s cam is showing the frame to be brighter than it is..looks quite vibrant in the pics really, nicer colour than the rim (on my screen) Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Your frame looks a lot like Porsche guards red to me, one of the brightest reds you will find. I've sprayed a lot of it. I think it will be fine once you get all it's clothes on. Unless you really want a more Hugger orange. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 http://www.planet-9.com/porsche-tires-wheels/72456-formula-43-racer-red.html I still sometimes amaze myself, goggled your color for some more pics and found this. This is why I hate selling paint jobs from color chips, especially ones off the internet. Quote
sidewayz Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Someone effed up. I like the orange but if you wanted orange and got red.....not cool. Quote
Abe Posted July 17, 2013 Author Report Posted July 17, 2013 The pic with the two bare frames is a better representation of color seen by eye in sunlight. While being OK in sunlight it is a totally different color when looking at it from my garage lighting at night. If I was naming the powder it would be burnt red or maybe old fuckin tractor. Looks real old skool like before they were capable of making the real pretty colors lol Quote

Looks real old skool like before they were capable of making the real pretty colors lol OK then, re-do it now. Truth be told I'm not happy with mine either. It's a very vibrant color on the side of a car, but with only small tubing showing it's WAY darker than I expected. I keep telling myself it will be fine, but, it will get re-done this winter. my 2cents. Quote
Chris327 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 the red is nice but looks nothing like that orangish rim color you wanted... its all about what you like though Quote
