when u guys get your custom paint jobs and your fancy powdercoat, what precautions do you take when putting your engine back in the frame so u dont fuck shit up...an ding here an there...

what ive done is lay 1/8 strips of old rubber floor mat on the frame rails and tape one up above just because so if i do happen to slip or have to set it down real quick to get a new grip on the engine i wont fuck shit up

anyways just wondering what you guys do in this case......

What i like to do with any freshly painted surface is just throw a wrench at it and get the first chip out of the way so i can get on with putting the thing together.  Other wise i will waste a shit ton of time being careful throughout the entire assembly process only to nick it the fuck up getting it off the lift or loading it in the truck or putting the very last piece on.

never thought of it that way. Probably the best way to go about it

I'm tanned and jacked so I don't worry about lifting the motor in and out. No but serisously, when my shit came back from powder, the only thing I did was put down a couple old bath towels to keep from hitting anything. Wasn't that big of a deal
