CalBanshee Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 Bought this bike last year and have been slowly making it my own. Bought the bike with:Toomey T-5sPro Design Cool HeadsSkat Trak HaulersCustom Seat CoverBesides that pretty much stock. CalBanshee Posted May 19, 2013 Author Report Posted May 19, 2013 On my first trip to Winchester Bay OR I blew the motor by keeping it at the same RPM too long (learned my lesson to keep load on the motor) New top end and replaced those horrible handle bars. Here's a pic of the bar setup I'm running. http://s1302.photobucket.com/user/acodywyatt/media/image_zpscbeb97a4.jpeg.html http://s1302.photobucket.com/user/acodywyatt/media/image1_zpsea849a12.jpeg.html http://s1302.photobucket.com/user/acodywyatt/media/image2_zpsd8ee2d7e.jpeg.html I love the new set up however I would like +2 inches of rise. Besides a steering stem, any other options? Quote
bansheegoon Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 Its not about keeping a load its about getting fuel/oil in to the cylinders. I always blip the gas or hold the clutch going down hills. This was a huge problem with 2stroke cars in Europe. Fun side fact for reverse the motor would be started in the opposite rotational direction. Quote
CalBanshee Posted May 19, 2013 Author Report Posted May 19, 2013 Because of this bar setup I had to put the key somewhere. I bought the LRD "Hide A Key" mount from someone on here. around the same time I put the K&N pod filters off the carbs You can see both mods in the pics below. http://s1302.photobucket.com/user/acodywyatt/media/photo1_zps81d28303.jpg.html Quote

Deadbeat Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 why not just get your parts powdercoated or painted the colours you want, instead of getting suckered into shitty trades or completely ripped off? Quote
CalBanshee Posted May 20, 2013 Author Report Posted May 20, 2013 why not just get your parts powdercoated or painted the colours you want, instead of getting suckered into shitty trades or completely ripped off? Ill consider that. Thanks for the tip. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 For a bit more rise at the bars you could try a CR high bend type of bar. Maybe some risers? Ultimately a stem would be best but I get that it's a big investment. Just keep peeking on eBay and the for sale section and you may just come accross a great deal. Quote
