they are different carbs.  it doesn't hurt performance so leave it in there.

I know this is a year old post but I was just doing a search on here because I noticed my carbs do not have the splash guards surrounding the main jet.  From what I am reading, I guess it's nothing to worry about, right?

Last time I cleaned my carbs I didn't bother putting them back in and nothing happened. Put em in take em out doesn't matter
