Bangixxer
I have to get rid of my stock carbs, nothing but problems with them. I am currently running SST exhaust with Pro-Design Proflow kit. Thinking of Vito's 404 kit and V-Force Delta valves in the future...what do you guys think works best...Keihn 28 PWK or Mikuni 28 flatslides. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance...Rob B
Scott M
PWK28's! Everybody that has them seems to love them, and they seem to give the best throttle response. Luckally I got mine used, but now I can get a new bare set for $220. CPW has 30's that are about the same thing, a kit is like $299. The word is the mic's are easier to tune but don't have as much peek performance- and it's just personal preference and how much you want to spend. If you just want larger carbs you can bore your stockers for about $80. Of course none of this really matters if your useing stock reeds+cages, why DVF2's instead of ported + good reed's? Bangixxer
What do you mean you can get a bare set for $220...what does bare mean? I have not decided on what to do with the engine yet. That is my project this winter as I am doing a full rip-down and rebuild. Also, what is CPW, I am assuming that is a place where I can get the carbs? Thanks again! Rob B.
sksummers
I agree on the 28PWK's, don't know anyone yet, other than all out drag racers that don't like them. In my opinion the Mikunis are harder to tune. Here is the hot tip on the PWK's, the 2001 Kawasaki KX100 came with a 28PWK on it, the list price for the complete carb is around $90 each. The only downside is the right carb needs to have the idle screw moved, or you just deal with it on the inside.
