Freak04421cub Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Ok guy I need your thoughts on porting my 421 cub what do yall know about rdz's drag port and passions drag port for a 421 cub running on meth witch one would y'all prefer Quote
J-Madd Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 Have you ran it unported yet? The 421 doesn't need much. Quote
whoppes27 Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 I have a 421 cub drag ported by rdz. it runs very well imo. Robs port work is pretty pricey for cp cylinders though. Quote
possum Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 just ask each of them if there drag port is just a cleanup with widening the exhaust. If it is dont go there! Quote
Freak04421cub Posted April 15, 2013 Author Report Posted April 15, 2013 I have never heard of redline but I thought about Rdz or k$t Quote

Pastrykiller Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 Guess we all just experienced a magic trick here. Shit just disappears. Quote
special06shee Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 I can assure you redline is top notch! Most builders will get you the hp out of that cylinder.. But redline builds his motors with a very broad power range! Not just for peak hp. Quote
J-Madd Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 I gotta cleaned up 421 and some ported 421s that run near identical times with my passion and RDZ 10 mil with a 25 lb heavier rider on the 10 mil. HP and TQ isn't necessarily the limiting factor on a Cub as far as e.t. I'm not proclaiming to know that limiting factor and don't have any secret setup. Quote
camatv Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 most of the "pro" ported cylinders i have seen were just a casting flaw flap wheel and a wider exhaust. hell a few of them the exhaust was so wide they were eating pistons.. hmmm Quote
J-Madd Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 The port timing is already good on most Cubs. Especially if you run Shearers. Calvin doesn't believe in high ports. Which is maybe why the builders widen them instead? Wide is better, but if it eats rings that sucks. Do you open up the triples instead? Quote

banshee760 Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 Pick a builder there is more then a phew people here , I would recommend redline k n t or Matt shearer wich is ho I've delt with , try to get the hole package do there is more then just porting to a motor like a custom cut dome that goes w the pipe and port UR gonna use , good luck !
