mx1986 Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 I have a ten mil cub with a mild drag port on alky with a drag frame 12in front 15 out back. i have stock primary ratio. 25in x 12 x 11 extremes. My question is what would be a good sprocket starting point right now it's a 14 40 Quote
m671054 Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 clutch setup? tires are 25-12 11paddle? Quote
m671054 Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 override 1-5 or 2-5. what gear do you olan to leave in Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 Most leave in 2nd, but it can be done well in 1st also. Quote
camatv Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 im to fat to launch 2nd gear. i break the gears all the time.. 1-5 is way better in my opinion. after you figure out how to make them work it for you. Quote
mx1986 Posted April 14, 2013 Author Report Posted April 14, 2013 No 12 paddle. R1 clutch 10 plate billet basket. I don't have a lockout clutch yet cuz I haven't bought straight cuts primarys gears. I weight 155 pounds. Quote
mx1986 Posted April 14, 2013 Author Report Posted April 14, 2013 I also have some 12 paddle extreme staggers that r 81 ro. The regular 12 paddle extreme r only 79 ro Quote
SlowerThanYou Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 R1 clutch 10 plate billet basket. I don't have a lockout clutch yet. IMO, that's way too much clutch. When you start getting over 700cc or smaller nitrous/boosted engines you can start using that many clutch plates efficiently. 10 plates will work, but pretty hard to get slip out of them. Then you carry the penalty of accelerating that extra weight. Quote
m671054 Posted April 14, 2013 Report Posted April 14, 2013 Way to much clutch in my opinion. 17-43 2nd gear stk primary ratio. Quote
10dmbanshee Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 We built a 4 mill cub with cleanup port work. 2-5 override in a stock chassis +10 out the back and stock j-arms. 14 sat extremes 75 ro 15-47 gearing. Went 4.26 with a 240lb rider. Bike weight rtr was 307 Quote
possum Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 what mph was that at and running out in 5th 10dmbanshee? 15-47 vs 17-43 is a big difference Quote
m671054 Posted April 15, 2013 Report Posted April 15, 2013 12 extreme vs. 14 extreme and 4mil vs. 10 mil are the reasons for gearing recomendation differences Quote
