Alright guys I took the clutch side cover off and everything looks great although what I did notice is my shift shaft had about 1/4 inch of play back and forth . When it's pulled out away from the bike . I can shift the bike into gears . When it's pushed in it will not shift into any gear . Can someone explain to me what has happened and how to fix it ?

The white bushing holds it from going in. the shaft just goes from the right side to the left side and touches nothing in between. pull the clutch basket and it will slide clear out. No case splitting. check the pawl for excessive slop.

Alright ill give that a shot but again why would this cause it not shift ? My buddy took it down the street and it ran fine and when he brought it back it wouldn't shift.

Is that locking tab on the eccentric screw bolt folded down?? I can't do the arrows, but the screw with the slot for a screw driver. There's a nut to lock it down, then a tab to fold over to hold it tight.
