tdod101 Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 Mechanic tuned up the quad but apperently it gets warn and shuts down after high revving, he suspects it's sucking air from somewhere around the crank case area...thoughts ? Quote

Starwriter Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 That's like going to the doctor and telling him your stomach hurts and asking him what it costs to fix it. In your case, could be as simple as a reed block gasket or as involved as crank seals and a complete rebuild. Won't know till you do a leakdown test. If he has no idea about how to do a leakdown test, get your bike out of there. Quote

sheerider11 Posted March 28, 2013 Report Posted March 28, 2013 Well if it sucking air then it's leaning out, lean mixtures run really hot. I've seen a runaway bike get extremely hot in about 5 seconds. The point to where I couldn't touch the pipe. Like stated, do a leak down. Quote
