.02 cents... i used 1211 sealer on both side's of the reed gaskets, probably way overkill but i wanted to make sure they never leak.

oh, and if it seems to have a slow leak, and your not using brand new spark plugs, check there first, i was using old plugs just for the test and they seem to leak easily.

Dan, Screw that soap and water bullshit!  Just spray a whole bottle of starter fluid into the intakes (or use oxyacetylene) then pressurize. Wave a match all around the motor. If you get a nice strong flame....you can trace it right to the leak.  :flamewar:

Ok did my leak test and held fast at 5.5 for more than ten mins. Now I have another question this cub was previously set up for meth and has a hole drilled in the side of one of the intakes. The builder had a plug screwed into the hole and had it red loctited in but it was leaking out of there. So I pulled the plug cleaned it up and used some thread sealant to seal it. Since I used thread sealant I couldn't use loctite. Am I going to have problems with this plug backing out???? Any help would be appreciated...
