joewest Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 i just rebuilt and cleaned my carbs now it idles high.... it still has the tors. is that the idle screw on the tors? ive tried messing with the screw on the carb its self and its not making it any better. tried from 1 1/2 turns to 2 1/2. it was set at 2 1/4 when I took them apart Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 Make sure the slides are in the correct way, in the correct carbs. They will go in backward but not seat completely. Also, did you tweak the adjustment on the carb tops, or are there any cable ends hanging out of the little clasps? Quote
lil Doobie420 Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 get a tors delete kit its way nicer but yea it is the idle screw Quote
joewest Posted March 17, 2013 Author Report Posted March 17, 2013 ok the cross over tube came loose put that back on it fixed the idling issues. now it bogs in high rpms besides in first it runs fine in first! damn this is pissing me off it run perfect b4 but it was leaking out the overflow that's the only reason I rebuilt them. atleast that's fixed! joewest Posted March 17, 2013 Author Report Posted March 17, 2013 it also wants to idle very low now will die sometimes. ive been messing with the air/fuel screw and its not really doing anything. haven't messed with the screws on the tors yet tho Quote
joewest Posted March 17, 2013 Author Report Posted March 17, 2013 its gotta be the main jet the rebuild kit came with a bigger jet that fast to be it. fuck man. im not taking that shit back apart today. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 if it was running perfect before......why did you CHANGE the main jet to a larger one while you were rebuilding the carbs???? Quote
joewest Posted March 18, 2013 Author Report Posted March 18, 2013 Cruz I didn't want it to be too lean, I installed a pro flow and advanced my timing +4 since I got it. Quote
joewest Posted March 18, 2013 Author Report Posted March 18, 2013 Cuz* never changed the jetting Quote
fastforworddad Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Maybe try sincing the carbs, just a thought Quote
joewest Posted March 18, 2013 Author Report Posted March 18, 2013 I put the other jets in now it idles fine and runs good but its only smoking from 1 pipe. How can I sync the carbs without the tool? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 Feeler gauges at the bottom of the slides and a very good eye. Just set the slides at the right height and open and close the throttle very slowly a few times to make sure they are opening at the same time/rate Quote
