Raw! I polish with real compound a couple times a year. I learned how to take raw steel and make it look like chrome back in high school metals and jewelry classes.

But that kills the look. I like the color change from the welds. I like the light coat of rust that forms. Like a old school rat rod

Yeah, works style pipes always look cool to me. Honestly majority of the hand coned stuff I see is ugly due to the lack of actual craftsmanship. I think the best raw set I've ever seen was a set of out of frame pipes from FTZ.
