drill the broken stud out, install a time-sert. buy a new stud and ur ready to go. if you took that top case to a machine shop and they couldnt help you, then never go back to them for anything. 

just to confirm what size drill bit and tap would i use?

guess i should have said case studs are m8x1.25

 

watch some of the videos on how to do it, if you dont feel comfoartable doing this or its your first time. id highly recommed a machine shop do this for you.

thanks ALOT!! But how do i get the set do you think a sear would have a set this size or would it be smarter to order one from like metco, snap on?

If you are going to drill and tap that stud, i'd use some heat and a reverse drill bit.  You might get lucky and have it come out for you.  I mean, you are drilling anyway, so why not.
