I hear yamahas like their oil meaning if you mix them richer, they run alot better, has anyone ever mixed it real rich?

If your jetting isn't setup for a rich mixture, like let's say your carbs are setup to run at 32:1 and you mix your fuel with more oil which you would think is "richer" is incorrect. You are actually displacing fuel with oil which is actually making a leaner mixture. Just sayin!

How can you know what mixture ratio your carbs are set up for?

Typically you know what premix you like to run and then you tune your carbs on that mixture.  Unless you are making drastic changes, I don't think you will have an issue.
