IceAlmeida Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 i used home insulation and lil piece of masking tape to keep it tight Quote
JayCLL Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I use zip ties lol to keep it tight Quote
camatv Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 the "fiberglass style" is all the same i think. there are a few "options" out there. one looks like shreded t-shirts its REALLY quiet.. also my favorite is coarse steel wool. most times the 4.00 sack will do 2 silencers. and it holds up way better.... mhoksch Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 I used some r-19 packing, it was burned up after one weekend of riding. Going to try the steel wool next time Quote

I use the stainless commercial pot scrubbers. Last long too. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 X-2 on stainless pot scrubbers. Will never burn out, can burn gook out if needed, 3/$1 @ dollar store, takes about 6 to do a can. Did I mention they sound great? Quote
thekevin Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Can I see some pics of that. Do you just stuff them in your silencers. I'm pretty sure my silencers are completely empty right now. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 As you can see there's kind of a hole in the center. Slide that over the tube. I packed my son's with 6 or 7 each can. Quote
IceAlmeida Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 im gonna try that tonight.... i still didnt put on my snap ring on the t5s they got that pink insulation in them now Quote
sprinklerman Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 I have been informed that the pot scrubbers may not be the best way to go. It might be better if you did your own research on silencer packing materials. Maybe Passion or SRP could post some input??? I will say that I've ran these scrubbers for a long while without any problems, but the info i recieved seems to indicate thaty might not be the best way to go... It would be nice if someone with more pipe knowledge would chime in. Thanks! Quote
IceAlmeida Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 no1 knows shit around here anyways lol Quote
