band1t
I am just wondering if anyone knows why Yamaha Named the banshee a YZF 350 Why "F" its not a four stroke Shouldn't it of been just a YZ 350. Is the reason behind the F in YZF350 banshee

ClayAiken
And if it were just a yz 350 it would make it a bike.
fappy'97
They had their YZ line of dirt bikes prior to 1987, so naming it the YZ350 would have been misleading. The YFM line has always been more their "trail oriented" and utility quads, while the YFZ models have been their sportier quads.
Nightmare
I always thought the f stands for "four". As in four wheels. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk
locogato11283
YFZ350Fast
Paulie B
Yamaha just does that since 4 strokes were actually an after thought. The official designation for the motor in my Blaster is a 1979 YZ400F. Why? Because the 78' 400 was a YZ400D and in 77' it was a 400C Then in 98' They came out with the poker that started the 4 stroke craze. It was a YZ400F. Kinda make finding parts a PITA. Idiots on youtube argue with me to this day telling me my motor is a 4 stroke. Rule of thumb. Any older bike with the same name as the youger one is always faster.
