tight dome fit

I have a cheriot head I tried to put the domes in that I bought from a member here. But they seem like i have to force them in. Is this right i dont want to press them in and then be screwed. Thanks Ro

I took a dremel and a flapwheel and cleaned up the domes till they fit right

chuck a old spark plug ( the metal part) into a drill or preferably a drill press, and screw the dome into that. Then just use some sandpaper to clearance it a touch.

should not need to modify it but i needed to on 2 of them...

i always used an extremly light coat of grease an tap them with a rubber mallet

sould be fine, if you clean them up good and make sure there are no burrs, that you push them in by hand. just tight enough to nill any chafing

i use a spark-plug sctrewed in to pop them out when it's time. if they are tight enough not to wear the bore/dome, then they will not fall out without assistance. "it's a good thing"
