kinda confused about the banshee compression. I usta build race chainsaws that were 2100 husqvarnas. 99 cc engine running about 6 degrees of advanced timing and 190 psi compression on pump gas with very aggressive chains that load up the engine pertty good. never had an issue with detonaton or overheating and that was with a air cooled engine. Now why cant we run higher comp numbers with the banshee on pump gas? oh and the rpm of the saws was 12,500 rpm

I guess that my saw "skills" dont apply to well with atv 2 strokers LOL. I would have got some 17 cc domes to fit and run pump gas but that dont sound like a good idea after researching this forum.

I know exhaust timing and blowdown plays an important role with compression. that might be the compression limiting factor with the banshees. In my experence compression always bumps up useable power to a certian point, then you start loosing power from too much comp. Whats the all around happy medium comp # for a banshee?

A lot of it has to also do with dome shape, piston shape, squish levels, and remember......chainsaws are not reed valve motors....these are. I run 20 cc domes in a dune/play port y Jeff at FAST racing and it kicks 156 and I have no signs of deto. Really wakes up that motor in the lower to mid.

Which is better to buy a CDI box or a pro design cool head w/22cc domes. which one would i gain the most hp with ?

Get the cool head and a adjustable timing plate set at +4 and you will see all kinds of extra HP

The cool head will give you more than the Cdi. You won't need a Cdi unless your trying to get every single ounce of power out of your bike like the drag guys.

Word to the wise......the Prodesign coolhead is a 2 piece design.....it can be a little bit of a bitch to go through the two pieces and all the damn o-rings. However the Chariot coolhead (he's a sponsor on here) has almost the same head except his is a single piece design which is WAY more easy to deal with. He can also cut you custome domes and give you info on what domes to run. I have a Prodesign........and I wish I had a chariot ......

And what do you guys think i should run 22cc domes or 21cc domes at sea level with a fresh topend and a +4 timming?

On normal 93 octane pump gas here in morocco

93 is like race gas up here in Alaska. Your lucky to get that at the pump. Highest we get is 90. About 5 years ago they removed 91 at the pump from all the stations.
