dozer Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) looks like it is slightly rich to me. not by much. i should have said this first: you should post up some details of your combo (i.e. engine size, jet size etc) and your elevation. Edited October 13, 2012 by dozer Quote
cameronchaos Posted October 13, 2012 Author Report Posted October 13, 2012 Is it normal for it to have that spot on one side of the plug like in the first pics that i posted up Its really hard to start sometimes until its warmed up then it fires right up My setup is Toomey t5s Stock carbs 320 main 27.5 pilot Uni air filter no lid on the air box and the box its self is drilled and cut its just there to keep dirt down Cool head 20 cc domes Stock cylinders with F.a.s.t clean up port V force 4s Boost bottle +4 timing I think thats every thing And my elavation is about 900 to 1000 Quote
dozer Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 stock stroke? how many turns out on the air screws? when my plugs looked like the first pics you posted i was 2 or 3 sizes too large on the main. Quote
cameronchaos Posted October 13, 2012 Author Report Posted October 13, 2012 Yes stock stroke and the air screws are 2 and a 1/2 turns out Quote
cameronchaos Posted October 14, 2012 Author Report Posted October 14, 2012 So i guess im rich? Anyone else got an opinion Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 320 sounds rich. i was at 290 with pods on my old setup but i didnt have any portwork. Quote
cameronchaos Posted October 15, 2012 Author Report Posted October 15, 2012 320 sounds rich. i was at 290 with pods on my old setup but i didnt have any portwork. Well I have a 300 I can put in and try should I order a bigger pilot jet considering it's hard to start what else would cause it to be hard to start Quote

cameronchaos Posted October 15, 2012 Author Report Posted October 15, 2012 The choke not closing all the way. Bad reeds. Not useing the choke properly. Carb sync. The choke im not sure of but the reeds are two weeks old v force4s Possibly a carb sync but it runs good on top end idk if it would make a difference or not. Quote
Bkm2006 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 1. clean carbs good all jets and holes even clean out the choke. 2. sync carbs. 3. turn a/f screw 1.5 out. 4. needle middle clip. 5. keep in 320 even though that sounds a bit rich. do another plug chop. your going to need more jets! but do another plug chop to see, make sure you go threw all the gears and rev it out good! . being hard to start when cold might be due to compression, how old is the topend and have you done a compression check? cameronchaos Posted November 10, 2012 Author Report Posted November 10, 2012 Just rebuilt it. It might have 7 hours on it if that Quote
