What would you safety wire

What is safety wire? I've seen it sold with grips, but how's it work, and what's it do?

 

And how are u using it on bolts? I'm unfamiliar with this stuff.

 

I guess not everyone is as strong as me, I don't even use loctite..

I safety wire anything that has to do with rotating mass on the race cars. CV bolts are the most common, both inner and outer. I've never safety wired anything on a bike though.

Safety wiring is the shit, only needed for certain applications though but it never hurts, military does alot of safety wiring specially on aircrafts, the engines have safety wire everywhere.

I safety wire my grips and anything that requires a cotter pin

Kicker. Wire the kicker if you are paranoid. I've had 2 fall off on me. Don't ask how i let it happen twice. I bring an extra one every trip haha

Thus is just stupid. Blue loctite is all u need. I have been riding these shitboxes for over 10 years. Never had any parts fall off yet. Safety wiring is a good way to make your bike look like an old piece of farm equipment though.

i did lose a shifter once. dont know how but it happened. shouldnt have fell off even without the screw in it

 

id use loctite and a lock washer and call it good though.
