jsinar Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 What are you guys who ride in the mountains running for gears? Mine is geared 14/41 now, I've got a 13 I can put on, Planning on a ride at the end of the month at wolfpen gap in central Arkansas, Should I go 13 or leave the 14? Tires are 20x11x9 Quote

jsinar Posted August 13, 2012 Author Report Posted August 13, 2012 Far as i know it's stock, fmf fattys/power core 2's, cool heads, v-force reeds.. Quote
jsinar Posted August 15, 2012 Author Report Posted August 15, 2012 I tried the 13 today, I can't get enough slack out of the chain.. and if I pulled a link it would be too tight at the loosest setting.. How do you guys gear down? just run a bigger one in the back? Quote
sootman73 Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 Welcome to the problem with the stock banshee swingarm. Not enough adjustment to be able to take one link out. This is why i'm switching to a round style carrier. Quote
lms1977 Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 it a preference thing I only hill climb I run a big paddle tire and run 13-43 on it works good but I'm gonna try to switch it up Quote
Pasi S. Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 When I had my stock swingarm, I could use 14-41 and 13-42 with a same chain. Now I have +6 stock style swingarm shop swingarm and I´m trying to save some money to get a roundhouse style. Quote
jsinar Posted August 16, 2012 Author Report Posted August 16, 2012 Anyway to squeeze a 14-42 with the stock chain/arm? Also, does anybody have a chart for different sprocket sizes that has the outside diameter of them? My bike has a gytr plate on the swingarm and I want to make sure before I get a bigger rear sprocket it won't hit the plate. Quote
