jsinar Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I finally got some just in time too, the tank of gas that was in the bike ran out the other day.. mixed 32:1 with 93octane, it doesn't seem to run any better, but it started on the 2nd kick, whereas before with the yamalube the guy was using it took 10-15 kicks to get it to start. So far it seems like a good oil, plus it smells freaking awesome, I just wanted to drink that shit. Quote

When I bought my first banshee 12 years ago, I also used yamalube. I never had problems with it not starting, but I would foul plugs about once a month. I accidentally used Klotz the first time at the dunes in Oklahoma because they didn't have any Yamalube in the store and I didn't bring enough for the weekend. I liked it but wasn't sold on it due to the price. My parents bought me two gallons of Super Techniplate as a birthday gift as a young boy. That's when I was sold on it! Two reasons. First, not once did I foul a plug through those two gallons. The only time I put new plugs in is on rebuilds. Even then, I didn't throw the plugs out. Kept them as emergency spares (still have em). Second, I would put rings and pistons in every winter and needed to. I would park the bike in the shop with huge compression losses around November and get to work. The Yamalube left almost a sludge in the bottom of the crank case. After the change to the Klotz, I went to rebuilding every two seasons (not really needing it, but did just do it basically) and the bottom of the crankcase was clean. Its apparent on how good that shit is just by tearing two motors down side by side one running yamalube and the other Klotz. You do that and anybody would be sold on it. Kinda lengthy post, but I truelly believe that a good product like this deserves a complimentary shout out. Quote

I don't know what kind of shape the engine's in, the guy I got it from didn't take super care of it, so I'm trying to get all the time I can before a rebuild, because when it's time I'm going through the entire engine, not just the top end..
