Sandworks Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 Did a search and didn't find much other than it will fit. Can someone tell me how long it is? And how much stiffer? Thanks! Quote
Sandworks Posted June 26, 2012 Author Report Posted June 26, 2012 No one? It's the one with the res going the same direction as the shock right? Quote
Glenyboy Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 11 3/4 inches eye to eye, that's an r6 red spring vertical reservoir type Quote
Coupelx Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 Drill out the top bushing and make a new one for the bottom. The bottom one is hardened and most aren't equipped to drill something like that. I also had to shave down the sides of the top one to fit the ears on the frame. Quote
Sandworks Posted June 27, 2012 Author Report Posted June 27, 2012 How about the sag, and how much stiffer? When I sit on mine now, it drops like 3 or 4 inches Quote
Coupelx Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 Way stiffer. Mine sinks about an inch with a +10 and I weigh 175. Quote
Sandworks Posted June 27, 2012 Author Report Posted June 27, 2012 Perfect, I don't want it to move until I hit a bump or take off Quote
Firemann32 Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 I have a R6 shock if someone is interested just PM me. I've decided to go a different route and not build a second Banshee, going to build a small bike for the kid. I know one guy I talked to wanted to use a pair of them up front to lower the front end for barrel racing. If you wanted to do that I can get a second one from my buddy. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 i have one that is already setup to take banshee bolts.... also has a spacer in the spring to stiffen it up for longer swingarms.... 50.00 plus shipping if anyone is interested.... Quote
Glenyboy Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Where did you get your bush from for the shock? Edited July 15, 2012 by Glenyboy Quote
711jrp Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 I got a local machine shop turn me up one for a drink. Quote
Glenyboy Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I wad thinking that, they use the shocks on lambretta scooters over here and someone sells a bush kit which may fit the banshee, but its they're over $20 each! That's far too much for a single bush. Quote
Coupelx Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I looted around the shop until I found a piece of tubing with the right ID and then just had to clean up the OD with Emery cloth on my lathe. Just have to look around and see what you can use! Quote
