Tim071 Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 Installing a new vapour I got off ebay but ran into an issue with the speed sensor. As my hub spins around the magnet hits the calliper. Has anyone else come across this? Quote
MyNameIsMud Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 I did initially when i installed mine but i changed the depth and it works great. You got the sensor lead thats got the two jam nuts on it and its threaded just change the amount that sticks out took me a couple tries to line it up perfectly. Quote
Tim071 Posted June 13, 2012 Author Report Posted June 13, 2012 Its not that part that's the problem. The magnet that bolts into the brake disk is hitting on the caliper mount as it spins around. Quote
Glenyboy Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 The sensor should bolt through the thin guard and the magnet goes through one of the disc retaining bolts. It shouldn't stick out any further than the stock disc bolts. Post a pic of how you've mounted it up, a pic says a thousand words. Quote

Yea it may be necessary to run a tap down the hub where that bolt goes.I did on mine and then used red thread locker. It should most definately not be sticking up any farther than the others around it. If you cant make that work you may give epoxying the loose magnet they send to the rotor somewhere. Quote
Tim071 Posted June 18, 2012 Author Report Posted June 18, 2012 Thanks for the help guys I ran a tap down the thread and cleaned it out but it was still hitting by about 2mm so I got the angle grinder out a made a slight modification to the caliper mount http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n309/Tim071/Banshee%20HQ/photo.jpg Works a treat, now to finish off the wiring harness Quote
