dave5.0 Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 Best thing you can do now-- Buy a clean frame with a vin and title, swap everything over and get rid of the frame with the ground off vin where nobody can ever trace it back to you. Do this. You can buy frames with good titles all day long for $2-300. If you are supposedly all legal now I wouldn't think there would be anything illegal with just buying another frame. Scrap the one u have now. Then put the new one in your name. Then if there is some shifty crap goin on they can pound sand after they run your new vin. Quote
06BCBANSHEE Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 I live in BC and for some fucked up reason we don't even need a title when buying used. All we need is a piece of paper saying whoever sold it to you, with the vin number on it. Fortunately I have never had a problem with it, all tho I would never buy somethig with a vin scratched off. Wish we needed a title, seems like it protects honest ppl. Quote
LT ROOKIE Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 I used acid and about 100 long q tips to bring the numbers out. You have to keep going over the vin with the tips and it will slowly appear. Have pen and paper nearby to write the vin because it will fade away. It took be about an hour to get the vin to be legible. Quote
bansheemandan Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 there are numbers on the motor, are they still there Quote
rjdgriff Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 Acid dip I believe. But that's CSI shit. Actually what they use is just over the counter at any pool supply store. It's called Muratic acid Quote

Nightmare Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 About six months before my uncle past away we drove out to Vegas to pick up a 92 lt250r he wanted. The guy said Nevada didnt give titles with off road vehicles. Is this true? I ended up with it since my mom lent him the money to buy it. Do i have a worthless bike now? Quote
