NA5TY Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 I am running stock carbs, I have a previous set with the TORS on them that would always over flow eventually.. I bought the set now with out the TORS an they over flow as well.. I have cleaned them an yet they still seem to over flow.. how can I adjust the float so that it gets enough gas but dont over flow? Thanks Quote
BigRed350x Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 Have you considered that your needle valves may be worn out or have a groove ring in the needle? Quote

Motooutcastxxx Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 the new set of carbs came with a different needle unless there both warn I'm not sure you're on the same page as BigRed, the needle valves (aka float valves) are not the same as the needles located in the slides, which is kind of what it sounds like you think he's saying . Just grab yourself a couple of carb rebuild kits and disassemble them one at a time since a few of the parts are carb specific. Also keep in mind the needle valve and seat don't clean up all that well with just a spray of carb cleaner, those you kind of have to work at if you want them to perform flawlessly. Bottom line, just replace them they're cheap. Or this might help, it's supposed to work well but I would still go with the rebuild kits and find the link to the service manual on here, think it's in the technical section, so you can have all the specs to get the floats adjusted accurately.; http://www.blasterforum.com/do-yourself-20/easy-almost-free-way-stop-leaky-carbs-33335/ Quote
Strm Trpr Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 I just rebuilt my stockers with the Moose Racing Rebuild Kits from FAST. You'll need two kits. http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=188 You might want to order a pair of 27.5 Pilot Jets as well. My 02 did not like to idle with the 25's, pods and T5's at Sea Level. Stepped up to the 27.5's and now shee starts on the first kick every time, does not bogg off idle and is much, much crisper off idle. They also stock the OE Choke Plungers as well if yours is worn out and won't stay pulled out. http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=394 Quote
