notorious Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Hello all, I just pulled my banshee out of storage and am trying to get it to run. It ran the last time I used it (last year) but now it doesn't. I can get it to run for about 10-15 seconds if I use a small amount of starter fluid, but it quickly dies. I know the fuel was old so I emptied what was in the tank and mixed up a fresh batch, that didn't change anything. It's basically stock except for some pipes, an adjustable timing plate, and a TORS eliminator kit. Thoughts? Quote
bikerjon Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 clean your carbs. If you are going to store your bike for that long, make sure you drain all of the gas first. Quote
notorious Posted April 24, 2012 Author Report Posted April 24, 2012 Ok, I'll do that this afternoon. I have a slow gas leak from the carbs... any idea where it's likely coming from? Quote
fuller1986 Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 problably your floats arnt set at the right height causing them to overflow Quote
notorious Posted April 24, 2012 Author Report Posted April 24, 2012 Ok, cleaned up the carbs and tried again... success! Now I noticed that it doesn't want to idle with the choke pushed all the way in, and idles high when the choke is pulled all the way out. Quote
bikerjon Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 make sure your pilot jets are spotless. Blow compressed air through them to make sure. See if it idles after you do this. If not. try setting the idle on your carbs. It should idle faster with the choke....it basically richens the fuel mixture for starting. Quote
bikerjon Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Also, try adjusting the air/fuel mixture screw. Depending on the jetting you should be around 2 turns out as a starting point. Quote
