greasergroff Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 when switching to a billet basket and straight cut gears how do you safely remove stock kicker gear from the back of the stock basket?Any info and pics would be great.I was gonna give it a shot but i really dont want to fudge up the brass sleeve.thanks guys Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 I just use a socket the same size as the bushing and press it out. Then install it the same way. Quote

locogato11283 Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 I've never frozen or heated any of mine. It has to be pushed out towards the back of the basket. The bushing and kick start gear are one piece. Quote

greasergroff Posted April 21, 2012 Author Report Posted April 21, 2012 yeah thats what i am going to make as well.im guessing you turned down a piece of steel or aluminum that fit nicley inside the brass sleeve and left a little lip to catch the edge on the outside of the sleeve?at least thats what im going to do so it will not distort the brass in any way.just have to find some time to get to my buddies house to use his lathe lol.can you post a pic of how your tool looks?
