streetplatoon Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 I just picked up a +6 extended swing arm, how do you install a new chain, do the wheels have to be off the ground or on the ground with wieght on the quad or no weight ??? Thanks ! Quote
sheerider11 Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Start the bike put it in gear and just let the magic happen. But for real, do it off the ground and give your self some room for your weight, or have some one sit on the the bike. Quote
DirtDiggler69 Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 With the bike on the ground , sit on the bike and have someone measure the sag . Use a piece of rope to pre-load the bike by tieing it to the grab bar and the lower shock mount , then install . Quote

Nieskes Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 I like to stand my bike on the handlebars and seat, makes it easy. Cut you old chain off with a tourch then weld some links on and slap er back on. Quote

With that you could sit on the bike and tighten up a ratchet strap to hold it in place. That's a really good suggestion in gonna use that from now on. Quote

Slap the chain on and adjust with the righy slack. Done. Quote
