Just ordered VForce3 Reeds and would like to get an Intake but heard it will set the carbs back enough where I wouldn't be able to use stock air box.

Is there Any Billet Intakes where I can still use Stock Airbox ? My Carbs are stock.

Ditch the stock air box for some pod filters. :shootself: Problem solved. :jesterlaugh:

Wish I could man. I ride through puddles of water all the time. I'd have those filters flooded in no time.

So don't go puddle smashing.

That would be no fun then. I love to get all dirty, lol.

I guess I'll just use the stock intake when the VForce3 Reeds get here. I'll just cut the rubbers lips off and then I can still go puddle smashing.

I was just hoping I could eliminate the stock crossover tube but keep the benefit of it.

Do u have stock carbs ? Whats ur reason in buying a billet intake? I think its a waste unless going with bigger carbs. Now if ur upgrading carbs, and want to keep stock airbox they do make bigger rubber adaptors, but i think you have to run upp intake boots. Call a site sponsor they will get u all set up. But like i said if ur not upgrading carbs why spend the money on a billet intake?

I got a nice billet intake w/ internal crossover tube from FAST racing years ago. It wasn't for stock carbs, but you could call him and ask if he has one for stockers, or see if you can order new boots for it to accomodate stock carbs. I ran the stock airbox with that setup because I too rode through a lot of mud and puddles.

You can run an airbox with any carb/intake combo providing you have a mig welder and a few pieces of flat steel. With welding new holding tabs for the airbox you could move it forward or backwards. I will be doing this in the next few weeks, I will post pictures of the job once completed.

Basically my idea is to weld a new tab to the frame and use a threaded bung with a custom made bolt, threads only on the back half, to hold the front of the airbox. I will them reweld the mounts on the back of the airbox and tack on a couple of threaded bungs. This allows the airbox to come out easily by removing the two bolts upfront.

Just an idea.

As of right now I've decided to continue using the stock oem carb intake. When I get time on my hands I will use Bigboybanshee's idea of calling Jeff and talking to him about a billet intake for the stock carbs. I will also use Ticktock's idea of fabricating the airbox where it needs to be with a mig welder. My neighbor right next door owns one and he's one of my riding buddies. He owns a Yamaha 700 Raptor, Hahaha, very good guy though.

Right now I'm still in the middle of my winter build on my Banshee. I have fabricated my own leak tester and am in the process of leak testing before I go to bed tonight.

Thanks to everyone so far who has given input to the subject matter.
