Meat Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 "You're detonation could be result of a lean condition because there is a LOT of oil displacing the fuel. Therefore you are not getting the required fuel into the cylinder." Agreed. Remember folks, oil/fuel ratio is different than air/fuel ratio. So if your carbs are jetted for 40:1 and not jetted for an oily 20:1 oil/fuel ratio, the motor will run lean. The more oil you put in your gas, the leaner the motor will run. Quote

Damn some of you beat me to it, I was going to say the same. The more oil you put in the less fuel you have and making it lean. Run it back at 32:1 first....or if youre good with math see what you need to dilute it back with some gas to get it back up to a better mixture Quote
zach45 Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 I have a hard time noticing if I my gas is mixed also.. I run 20oz to 5 gal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
