i just bought a 99 yamaha banshee that needs a new topend and a bore. this is my first quad ever! i ride trails and dirt roads, grew up on 2 strokes though. last bike was a 2007 yz125, i out grew it and threw it up on pennswoods. when it sold i had a guy later view my add wanting to trade his blown up banshee, but i told him it was sold and i threw out a 500$ offer and he took it. so for its mod list: coolhead, 20cc domes, pro circuit pipes and timing plate set to +7, with front wheel spacers. im in welding at votech in oil city, PA. im 16 years old and i dont have much money to do more mods. i had 1000$ but after geting new wiseco pistons, boreing to .040 over, andgetting the title and insurance put in my dads name (until im 18) im down to a few hundred. well i joined the site hoping to make some banshee friends because the only friends around here to ride with are on bikes and tend to crash alot (no fun) expecially when all the trails and gas lines are being posted, leaving us no where to ride.

well i just figured id introduse myself and my banshee.

Welcome to BansheeHQ

There are a ton of members here from PA. You should be able to find a bunch of people to ride with.

Also, you may want to consider taking those front wheel spacers off. They mess up your steering and I just don't trust them.

Thanks! And yeah i will be tearing them off before i ride it. Im not pleased with the previous owners work at all. Its no wonder it blew up. The carbs were full of dirt, he has a k&n filter pretty much siliconed to the back of the carbs with a freezerbag that has holes in it as an outer wear. I mean this thing is rubberbands and bubble gum fixed up. Im gonna change all that. With: new pistons, +4 timing, air box with k&n filter and outerwear, no lid on the airbox, all new brake pads, new fuel line, new crank, and ill probably powdercoat the frame and get new plastics. Ive been looking around for local pc companys but none want to touch an atv frame. I might just spray paint it since its a trail bike. Thanks guys

Good call on retarding the timing back to 4 degrees. +7 is way to much unless you are running alky. Ask your local pc companies why they wont touch an atv frame? If you do the complete tear down on the frame, i dont know why they wouldnt pc it for you. If you do end up tearing you bike all the way down, check out the threads on her for shaving unneeded mounts and what not that can clean up your frame and save a little weight. Good luck and welcome to the HQ.

Thanks man. I did tear it down. A local shop SFPC (Specialty fab & powder coat" says they wont do it because theyre result wont stand upbto the elements a atv will be open to. A family business says they only do car frames. Illbprobably paint it. I removed as much as usless metal as possible. Quick question tho, can u run different silencers with pro circuit pipes?

i have t5 pipes and am looking to get another set of pro circuits maybe a trade? whats the condition of those. im from pa as well . welcome to HQ

Im looking to keep the pipes but maby get a different silencer for a diffetent sound. But the head pipes are pretty rusty, need to be re-chromed.
