desertshee Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 2001 banshee I just put new chariot reed cages with boyesen reeds and now i cant get my bike to start cold without starting fluid. As soon as it starts the first time it will start every time on the first kick but it wont idle. Here a list of mods FMF fattys Pro flow with K&N filter lid off Boost bottle stock carb 310 main 32.5 pilot 1 turn out The ran perfectly fine before I put the new reeds in. can anyone give me advise or put me in the right direction Quote
Finch Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 elevation? seems like a big pilot for stock carbs but that could just be me? have ya tried playing with the air screw that will change your idle and if it wont your on the wrong pilot. someone correct me if im wrong i just put boyesen reeds in mine and a stock pilot (25) airscrew 1 and 1/2 turns out Quote

rubberneck Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Did you make sure the slides went back in the correct carb if you switched them side to side they will be in backwards and bike wont run for shit. What about the choke tube that goes between the carbs did you make sure to reinstall it Quote

What about the choke tube that goes between the carbs did you make sure to reinstall it i do have the tube between the carbs and the slides went back into the same carb because i only took one apart at a time for that reason. when i push started it and took it for a test ride it ran great. it just wont idle or start cold would it make a difference if i moved the needle richer Quote
