I was at Sand Mountain toady and was having problems shifting my bike. About 3 hours into riding the tires locked up and i went sliding down the side of the dune. I was able to get it onto flat ground and tried to kick start it just to find there was not anything behind the kick. In other words, the kickstarter just went up and down like it wasn't connected to anything. I was able to get a tow back to the truck where i loaded it up and hung my head in shame and went home. Im thinking that something broke in the tranny somewhere. What do you guys think?

Kicker gear is connected to the back of the clutch basket, which is connected to the pto shaft and transmission. Its impossible to say what happened until you at least pull the clutch cover off and see whats going on in there. Might be an easy fix, might be a total bottom end re-build. Tough to say.
