hshooter Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 Anyone know how to resolve this problem? Why is this happening? Quote
camatv Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 bad ground bad cables on main coils, loose connections on wiring, bad feedback from frame etc.,.. replace the entire setup. cleanoff the frame COMPLETELY when you remount the coils so the background noise can disapate better Quote
sleeper06 Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 well said CAM also use diaelectric grease on all grounding piont to alleviate corroding Quote

And pickup coils? Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 explain "eating up 4 pick up coils" a little better. i run a pvl, ive never had a problem a pickup or igniton coil going bad. curious is all Quote
J-Madd Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 I tried pvl for a while and went back to stock on all but one. Such a headache troubleshooting 4 coils when something goes bad. Anyway, no need for frame ground. Run a ground wire from the motor to the coils, and ground the coils black wire there as well. NOt sure if that will fix your problem, but will eliminate possibility of bad ground. Quote

Rotax Raptor Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 Does the stators or flywheel have any signs of rubbing each other? I had a guy bring me one that had a a bad crank bearing that allowed the flywheel to hit the stators. I run a ground wire from the coil to the motor. Just a couple thoughts! Quote
