DrWooWooWoo Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Just picked up my 2nd Banshee. 1st one is long gone. I traded a scramber 500 for it. Its an 01, appears to be bone stock. Hopefully with some guidance on here i can fix that Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Welcome to BansheeHQ I hope you're prepared to go broke modding your new bike! When was the last time you messed around with Banshees? the aftermarket is HUGE for them now. Quote
TNTS355 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Glad to have ya here. There are several of us on here in the DFW area if your close. Any one of us will be glad to help you spend $$$ on your bike. Quote
guns4children Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 When you start modding i would say if your going to buy pipes get a nice used set that works well with the stock motor. WHEN not if you want more go as big as you can go the first time. would have saved me a few Gs. Quote
wfobasheeboy Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Welcome to BHQ This is a great site with good guy & great info here. Quote
DrWooWooWoo Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 Im in justin tx, im always at rocky ridge and am dying to hit up bulcher on this thing. Im on the fence on modding it. Its bone stock and clean. Seems a shame to cut it all up. I just need to get that 1st mod done Quote
FASTOYS Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Welcome to the Banshee world again. First thing i would do is look for some good used pipes, T5s, pro Circuits, Fatties, etc. depending on your riding style and then get a timing plate set at plus 4 degrees. After that maybe a milled stock head or Noss aftermarket head. Make sure to rejet carbs after all this. That will make for a FUN/ Reliable bike. After that then V force Reeds and then on to PORTING cyls.if your still craving more power.. Quote
DallasGDub Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Welcome to HQ. I do not ride trails anymore, but Rocky Ridge is a fun place. It's a back, and bike beater though. A stock bike does ok out there. Once you go to a place you can open it up, you will see what your missing. I was content with my slightly modded bike until I went to Red River 1 time. Shit went down from that. True story: After only riding @ Rocky Ridge, I took a trip to the Red River. I came back from that trip and redid the entire bike. I wanted more. (porting, pipes, looks, all of it.) It was sick, so I thought anyways. Then I made a trip out to the dunes with a few local guys on here,....came back home, and it started all over again. Ended up with a nice 4mil duner. Well, it does not stop there. This fall I went to the asphalt drag races in Fort Worth. As you might have guessed by now.....the bike is scattered all over the place getting redone, yet again. LOL.... It is a true addiction for some people. As stated above: Rocky Ridge, http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh279/DallasGDub/IMG_0032.jpg then after Red River, http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/uu45/gdubbanshee/IMG_0749.jpg Then after the dunes, http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh279/DallasGDub/20054milBanshee/124.jpg And now, lol http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh279/DallasGDub/IMG_0209.jpg Quote
DrWooWooWoo Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 Those firat 2 setups look sick. Even with the scrambler I stayed off the rocky trails. Hill climbs and the long trails out there is where we ripped it up. That's awesome that there are alot of you guys in ddr. I know a few of the drag guys around here and that's really not my cup of tea. Im thinking easy mods for now. Pipes reeds etc. I do have friends in Oklahoma who are always out at little Sahara, so im shooting for a quad that is at home riding the fast trails and isn't lost riding out at the dunes Quote
