doug
I want to go with black rims - has anyone painted their stock rims? Are there other options? Any pics?
swhitey917
I want to go with black rims - has anyone painted their stock rims? Are there other options? Any pics? Options are you can paint them which has to be done right or they just chip off and look awful so I would not advise painting them. You could get your rims powdercoated black or Order new black rims. I have factory black rims on my shee. (see sig)
bansheeman_05
Yeah I agree painting them would probably be a waste of time. ATV wheels are usually pretty reasonable price wise to get powdercoated. Edited January 4, 2012 by bansheeman_05
swhitey917
Yeah I agree painting them would probably be a waste of time. ATV wheels are usually pretty reasonable price wise to get powdercoated. Complete waste of time with the headache involved of getting the paint to stay with the abuse of riding. Especially when you can pick up a brand new set of black wheels for pretty cheap if you dont want to go through the troubles of finding a powdercoater. example: http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/81/257/995/604/30666/G-Force-GP-Aluminum-Wheel

06specialedition
Buy black ones, or have some powder coated. I had some polished douglas .125 wheels powder coated black and they hold up great. I ride sand only.
andrew3160
I just powder coated an old set of stockers flat black and they turned out better than the G Force flat black wheels I just bought. I powder at home though, so it only cost me a few bucks in powder and my time. We have painted wheels and they never hold up longer than one ride. MM379
example: http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/81/257/995/604/30666/G-Force-GP-Aluminum-Wheel RM also has a newer brand called STI that are priced a little cheaper than G-force... I already ordered up a set, hope they are good.

I was just showing him an example of where to find black rims to buy,

doug
Thanks for all the input guys. I've got some thinking to do - any pics would be appreciated. These are going on an '06 Anniv. Edition (yellow) so the heavy, blacked out boots will look awesome. The Gforce Matte black look really good: http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/81/257/991/-/26039/G-Force-XC-Aluminum-Wheel
