30years Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 I've got a 10 mil cub that was on alky, I want to run on 110 or 115 octane. I will probably be running 39 or 40 mil carbs, timing at +4 or +5 v3 reeds and shearer oof's. What I need to know is what size domes should I be running? Kicking compression was at 185 190 and I think that was with 18 cc domes, but that was set to run on alky. Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 180-190 is a ton of compression, anything beyond 170psi or so really kills your rpm's. i would try 19-20cc dome, thats what we run on our 10mm's. youll be able to run methanol or race gas on the same dome and the rpms will be much higher. 30years Posted January 2, 2012 Author Report Posted January 2, 2012 I was told use 21 or even 22cc domes. I just don't want to have to buy like 4 sets of domes to figure out what works. I was hoping for as much input as possible, especially now that I need like 12 more posts to use the swap shop. Lol. Hopefully more people will chime in and share their knowledge as well. Thanks. badassbanshee479 Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 who ported the motor? I would contact them and have them custom cut a set of domes for ya... they will know where the port timings are and what works with there setup.... easier than trying to make off the shelf domes work Quote
camatv Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 call k+t ask for gas domes. fixed. Quote
FraireRacing Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 What cool head are you running? I have a set of 22cc domes for a pro design head. If your running the same style head ill trade you for your 18cc. Let me know Quote
30years Posted January 18, 2012 Author Report Posted January 18, 2012 I ended up sticking with alky, but thanks! Quote
