007banshee Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Anyone run these on their bikes? Just need to pick up a allen type head to fit torque wrench? Any issues using them on cases? Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 I put one of them on with no problems. Be sure to use anti seize on every single nut and bolt, else you will snap them off. The kit comes complete with a ton of extra shit as well. Quote
Infamous039 Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 I use them on all my builds, they are good quality and make the bike look great Quote
wacko2000 Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 I use them on all my builds, they are good quality and make the bike look great X2 Ive prob purchased 8 sets over the years- Great kits- packaged well And youll have tons of extras Quote
007banshee Posted December 11, 2011 Author Report Posted December 11, 2011 Ok cool yeah i bought a kit. Awesome packaging since im doing a build from scratch lol. Just wasn't sure how they were for the cases. Did you guys use the one that connects the wishbone linkage to the swingarm(bottom one of the two. Mine hits the swingarm when compressed causing it to bottom out before the shock does Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted December 12, 2011 Report Posted December 12, 2011 Yeah, a few of the bolts don't work on the swingarm. I also don't like to use the bolts they send for the front brake rotors. But it's an awesome kit. But beware and follow the advice of others......you need to dab EVERY bolt with either anti-seize or loctite. Stainless bolts when tightend can cold weld together and you'll have to break them to get them off. (A friend cold seized a small nut and bolt for mounting his plastics. It was the one of the two for the top of the front fender.) so hit it all with anti-seize unless it's something you don't want to have come loose without effort.......then use loctite. (I like the blue for general stuff.) Great kit Well labled Put all your factory stuff back into the bags when your done. Staple them back closed and you'll have well labled spares. You'll still have plenty of nice extra stainless bolts. I went and got the right sized stainless allens and replaced my float bowl screws. Now...No more rounded out and stripped phillips float bowl screws. Quote
007banshee Posted December 12, 2011 Author Report Posted December 12, 2011 Nice! Well looks like ill have to undo a bunch of stuff and apply anti seize lol. Yea the rotor bolts don't work. Either do the ones that came on my hubs( bought used) they are the rounded allen's. They hit the caliper when going around, should i find bolts or rotors. The wife has an 06 and her rotor bolts are flat and looks like the rotor is recessed where the bolt goes? Quote
007banshee Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Posted December 22, 2011 Do the stainless bolts need to be torqued differently? If so what is the difference. Quote
